- All Breed Rescue Network, Inc. About 25% of all homeless dogs are purebreds. Find your perfect dog here.
- Animal Rescue and Adoption Society: Provides a safe shelter and a second chance for homeless cats and kittens. 2390 So. Delaware St. Denver. 303-744-6076
- Cat Care Society provides sanctuary for cats until adopted. Call 303-239-9680.
- Clear Creek/Gilpin County Animal Shelter. Call 303-679-2477
- Colorado Basenji Rescue provides foster homes until Basenji's can be placed in qualified homes.
- Colorado Greyhound Adoption finds permanent loving homes for retired racers. 303-814-1538
- The Colorado House Rabbit Society is a national domestic (pet) rabbit rescue organization, with a chapter in Broomfield, Colorado. The Colorado House Rabbit Society offers affectionate, litter-trained, spayed or neutered rabbits for adoption. They also offer education about rabbits.
- Deaf Dog Action Fund rescues and re-homes deaf dogs.
- Divine Feline is a nonprofit, 501(c)3 organization dedicated to TNR (trap, neuter, and return) of feral cats in Colorado. The number of cats Divine Feline has altered through 2009 is 8,978 and the total number examined through 2009 is 9,247.
- Dumb Friends League provides shelter and care for adoptable pets. 303-696-4941.
- Evergreen Animal Protective League. EAPL is a non-profit, volunteer organization dedicated to providing aid to lost, abandoned, and suffering animals through rescue, shelter, and education.
- Golden Retriever Rescue of the Rockies rescues and re-homes Goldens. 303-279-0413
- Good Samaritan Pet Adoption Center, Inc., shelter alternative, promoting healthy relationships between people and pets. 303-333-2291.
- Ho-Bo Care Boxer Rescue rescues and re-homes Boxers. 303-744-8329
- Homeward Bound Foundation supports existing Colorado animal welfare organizations. P.O. Box 740841, Arvada, CO, 80006.
- Longhopes Donkey Sanctuary adopts out healthy donkeys. 303-644-5930
- Mariah's Promise Animal Sanctuary: All that we can, we will. Provides homes for dogs until they are adopted. The folks here have been extremely helpful to dogs in emergency situations. 719-687-4568
- MaxFund Animal Adoption Center provides medical care until animals are adopted. 303-595-0192

- Table Mountain Animal Center
- United Animal Nations Emergency Animal Rescue Service (EARS): Trained rescuers from this organization retrieved pets during Katrina. They are called to help in disasters everywhere.
